Dirck completed his medical training at the Cayetano Heredia University in Peru, South America in 2002, graduating with degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
In 2004, he emigrated to the United Kingdom, where he undertook surgical rotations in London and Belfast. Between 2000 and 2013, he broadened his clinical experience through elective rotations in Brazil, Spain, and France.
Dirck became a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in 2016 when he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
After completing his plastic surgery training in Perth, Dirck dedicated over two years to advanced hand and wrist surgery fellowships. During this time, he gained experience working alongside internationally renowned hand surgeons in New Zealand, Spain, and Argentina. His training included working at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand (2016–2017), as well as undertaking hand surgery rotations in Argentina (2017), the Kaplan Hand Institute in Barcelona (2018) and the Piñal Plastic and Hand Surgery Institute in Santander and Madrid (2018).
Dirck joined our practice in 2021 and is also Head of Department of Plastic Surgery and a Consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital. He is also a Consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and the hand unit at Fremantle Hospital.
In addition to English, Dirck also speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
